As we get older, our bodies tend to stop doing all the things we used to do so easily … have you noticed that? I certainly did …

It started with a few aches and pains here and there that just seemed to hang around. I was injuring myself doing things that really shouldn’t have injured me (I triggered the most excruciating pain in my hip by simply reaching up to put a cup away - WTAF! … what was more embarrassing than that was having to explain to my chiropractor what I’d done to injure myself)

Then my metabolism changed and I was putting on weight that I just couldn’t seem to shift. 

And then the hot flashes started … it’s so great being a woman (LOL)

I’ve always believed that age is just a number but it’s hard to keep that positive mindset when your body is telling you a different story!

My biggest fear in life is that I’m going to be an “old woman” when I’m an “old woman”, that I’d lose my independence and physically wouldn’t be able to do the things that I love. Over the past 5 years I got a glimpse into my future as I watched helplessly as my mum slowly lost mobility in her hands. As the strength left them, she found it harder and harder to do simple things like hold a cup of coffee. It got to the point where she couldn’t close them, and the discomfort she felt was constant and extreme.

By a twist of fate, I met a woman who would change my mum's life. A short 4 weeks later, my mum could feel the difference in her body. In just 3 months she had full mobility of her hands again! She can close them, pick things up and hardly has any discomfort at all. Not only does she have her independence back, her whole outlook has improved. She’s back to enjoying life, feeling fantastic and doing what she loves. Her quality of life has improved tremendously, and to me, that’s priceless.

After seeing this incredible change, it gave me hope and it also inspired me to do what she was doing. My aches and pains have disappeared and my hot flashes have reduced in frequency AND intensity (much to my husband’s delight … apparently I whacked him once or twice in my haste to remove the blankets)
