About Lisa Kimmitt

After experiencing a carers role for 10 years i realised the lack of support available to carers directly. My goal is to empower carers in this challenging yet rewarding role of care to continue cherished relationships and bonding of their loved ones during a transitional change of being.

With having over 10 years first hand experience with Parkinson's and Dementia caring for my mum, and 5+ years being involved and coordinating a local Parkinson's support group I saw a need for further carer support services to be made available. I provided the Parkinson's group with information, education, personal support and resources to assist the carers and their families with loved ones. As I have seen the challenges and complexities facing carers, I drew on this passion and opportunity to set up my business and offer experience and educational knowledge. This consists of an International Dementia Doula Certificate and various other online neurological, mental health and aged realted condition studies to further support and assist the carers journey with their loved one.

To provide companionship, resources, support, freedom and connection to empower carers to thrive within the community. The Carers Project offers a holistic approach within a sympathetic environment to enhance the carer’s wellbeing and personal growth to strengthen, nurture and support confidence and validation within their carer journey.
